The Return...sort of
It has been a long while since I have written a post primarily due to my new responsibilities as CEO of Innovators International. But as people say 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder' and I am drawn back to articulating a bit about what I see in the world. Through my role at Innovators International I have been fortunate to be in conversations with executives doing some amazing things relating to innovation. I have been able to hear their challenges and concerns as well as ideas and opportunities that the future holds for their companies. These types of discussions are both fascinating and complex. How does one plan for the future? How does one develop something they feel people will really want? And how do they do it in a way that outcreates themselves before someone else does? These are they types of questions that leaders are grappling with at all levels.
It is important to maintain the vision of what is ahead, but not neglect what is keeping the lights on. This is especially true for larger organizations but true at all levels that go down to the individual. One of the key components to ensuring your vision, corporate or personal, comes to fruition is to implement key innovation management practices. In my future posts I hope to outline several that I feel are important. These include a clear definition, metrics and culture associated with moving things forward.
It is good to be back and I look forward to the innovation story that is my life.
